We moved into our beautiful, old, 1938 home in the Oaks area of the Hollywood Hills, a part of town with which we were not too familiar. We needed to find a new electrician, plumber and handyman. A yellow promotional card for an electrician, Power Up Electric, arrived in the mail so I kept it on file.
Not too long after our move, we were in dire need of an electrician. I called Power Up Electric and spoke with Gabriel Chan. That was over 16 years ago. To this day, whenever I need an electrician I immediately call Power-Up -- they arrive on time, I give them the problem, solutions are discussed, the job is completed. At the end of each workday, the site is cleaned up and everything is returned to its rightful place.
Power-Up provides years of expertise in the electrical field with extremely fair costs. An added advantage of the company is that the team has worked together, in a very cohesive manner, for a good period of time -- their obvious attention to minute detail is a major plus. Gabriel and his crew are all very personable people and I have no hesitation in highly recommending the company - Power-Up Electric are, without a doubt, our "go to" electrical magicians.

I needed an electrical contractor to rewire and bring up to code my six unit apartment building in Glendale, CA. The building was constructed in 1937, before so many electrical appliances were as commonplace as today. My tenants had added window air conditioners, microwaves, portable electric heaters, sound systems, computers, etc. The old fused wiring was beyond it’s original design capability.I was concerned about safety from fires, future insurability, and capability to install future central AC units. I was also concerned about bringing in an electrical contractor to work in occupied apartments while the tenants were away at work.
Then I discovered Power-Up Electric! Gabriel Chan and his crew had recently rewired an adjacent building and the Landlord and tenants were very happy with the job.
After entering into a contract to do my building, Gabriel obtained the necessary Permits and approval from the Power Company to upgrade my building to 400 amp service, replace the old fused sub-panels with circuit breakers, and install new sub-panels for future AC units. The work also included bringing the wiring, outlets, switches, fixtures, and smoke alarms up to current code requirements, and adding quality phone and cable TV outlets.
Every day Gabriel and his crew carefully covered their work area with drop cloths, protected tenant property, and respected tenant privacy. Then at the end of the work day they cleaned up the area and vacuumed up all the dust. The tenants were very happy with the cleanliness and I was pleased with the minimal amount of holes in the walls.
I will gladly recommend Gabriel Chan and Power-Up Electric to any Landlord who needs a careful, knowledgeable, neat and professional electrical contractor.

General Electric Upgrade..I first met and contracted Gabriel Chan and Power-Up Electric back in 1992 when I purchased an aging duplex in Silver Lake. I was impressed by his punctuality, ability to reasonably access the work needed, and to perform the work within his estimate.
Since then, as I have acquired and sold other Silver Lake properties, I have always entrusted Power-Up Electric to do my electrical work. The scale of the jobs has varied, from changing outdated outlets and installing dimmer switches, to rewiring an aging triplex.
